Shine Beauty has six beauty salons throughout South East Queensland 17 years trading history. First established 1999, there are now three Shine salons located on the Sunshine Coast at Maroochydore, Caloundra and Sippy Downs.
Tania acknowledged the 27 finalists and stated that she was honored to win the prestigious award. She described the amazing feeling and what meant to be recognized and awarded for her achievements.
She thanked the Sunshine Coast Business Woman's Network for there work connecting business woman and thanked the award sponsors for their vitally support.
Tania started from humble beginnings and in her acceptance speech she provide the audience with a glimpse of her earliest days in beauty and the initial struggle of her first year...
"We opened my first Shine salon in Australia Fair on the Gold Coast 17 years ago. With no money for a fit out, my retail career started with a temporary lease, a retail space that was halved with cheap patrician wall, plants to fill up the reception zone, and two beauty rooms, with no plumbing. A cheap sign was put up, minimal products purchased and one employee, me the sole operator, I was open for business and Shine was born.
I was a determined young beauty therapist working over 60 hours a week building and nurturing my business, obsessed with offering the best customer service, employing the best people and offering the best treatments.
As my business began to thrive I quickly discovered I needed better systems, policy documents, training manuals. I took off my beauty therapy hat and entered the broader world of small business. I became Business Development Manager, Human Resource Officer, marketing Director, book keeper and so much more. With a limited education (having left school at just 15), this was a challenge, but I could see the future of Shine.
Today Shine has six luxury salons in South East Queensland and nearly 40 therapists, managers and IT employees. We have proudly won Sunshine Coast business excellence three times and have led the way in on-line bookings in our industry I have had the honour of mentoring, coaching and training hundreds of Shine therapists over the last 17 years and met thousands of amazing woman who I am proud to call Shine Clients.
I did not make this journey here alone. I am blessed with an amazing and supportive family... Joel my husband and business partner who I would love to be standing up here with me tonight, my children Chanel, Max and Jade ...to my wonderful friends who are here and special mention to my mum here tonight who brought me up to believe you really can achieve anything.
